Georgia allows foreigners to register an Individual Entrepreneur (IE) remotely through a Power of Attorney (PoA). This means you do not need to travel to Georgia to start operating as a sole trader.

How remote registration works

  1. Issue a Power of Attorney to a trusted representative in Georgia, notarised and apostilled (or legalised) in your country.
  2. Your representative registers the IE at the Public Service Hall on your behalf.
  3. Tax registration is completed with the Revenue Service, where you can also apply for Small Business status if eligible.

After registration

Once registered, you receive an identification number and can open a business bank account, issue invoices, and apply for preferential tax regimes such as Small Business status (1% on turnover up to the annual threshold).
